What does Tonka bean smell like?
Native to South America, more specifically Venezuela and Brazil, the Tonka bean grows in a tree known as dipterix odorata, commonly known as "teak". The fruits produced by the tree are harvested when ripe and then dried for almost a year so that the Tonka beans can be extracted.
